3. Notes:
A maximum of two L.D. courses may be chosen on the Senior Secondary Program. Mathematics 12 L.D. may not be used to satisfy the 12 level course requirements.

Students planning to enter university are strongly advised to include Mathematics 11, an academic Science 11 and a second Language 11 in their programs.

Students planning to attend a post-secondary institution should determine from that institution the specific program prerequisites before selecting any Grade 11 or 12 courses.

Consumer Education 12 must be taken if students have not completed Business Education 10.

Students who left school prior to graduating and who wish to complete Grade 12, must now do so under the current graduation requirements. Students for whom this applies should check with their counsellor either at their school, or at a Regional Correspondence School to ensure that an appropriate program of courses is being followed.
Provincial and Scholarships Exams:
Students will be required to write a provincial exam, where
applicable, if enrolling in a distance education course:
- September 1, 1994 or later
- prior to September 1, 1994, but not completing that course by April 30, 1995.
Students enrolling in a distance education course prior to September 1, 1994 and completing that course by April 30, 1995, will not be required to write a provincial examination.

The score on the provincial exam will constitute 40 percent of the final grade, and the percentage mark the student's Regional
Correspondence School awards for the completed distance education course will constitute 60 percent of the final grade. Their
provincial Transcript of Grades will show both scores, along with their final percentage and letter grade in the course.

There are scholarship components for every course in which there is a provincial exam, except English 12 and Communications 12. The three- hour English exam will also determine a scholarship score for English 12, if students score at least 70 percent; there is no scholarship score computed for Communications 12. The scholarship component is one hour long, and is written in the same exam session as the
provincial component.

To be eligible for a provincial scholarship students must:
- pass English 12
- write provincial and scholarship exams in at least three scholarship courses, and achieve a total score of 1700 (minimum of 475 on each exam)
- graduate from a British Columbia secondary school, or a Regional Correspondence School
- be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident at the time the exams are written.

Languages:

English

Media and methods employed: Printed text, tutorial support, audio cassettes, video cassettes.
It is expected that students will supply their own basic materials such as pens, pencils, rulers, lined paper etc.

Administrative information:
When graduation requirements are completed in full, the Regional Correspondence School will issue a British Columbia Secondary school graduation diploma or British Columbia adult secondary school graduation diploma, whichever is appropriate, to students who complete their senior level courses by correspondence.
